Get from A to B

TMB runs the metro (lines L1-L5, L9/L10, L11) and city buses; FGC runs suburban lines from Placa Catalunya and Placa d'Espanya (useful for Sarria, Tibidabo and Montserrat); Renfe Rodalies commuter trains cross the centre (Sants, Passeig de Gracia, Placa Catalunya) and R2 Nord reaches airport Terminal 2. Trams (TRAM) run along the Diagonal. All zone-1 integrated tickets (T-casual etc.) work across metro, bus, FGC, TRAM and Rodalies within zone 1. The Gothic Quarter, Born and Raval are best on foot.

Good to know

• One T-casual can only be used by one person; groups should buy a T-grup or several cards.
• Normal tickets do not cover the L9 airport stations: buy the airport ticket or use the Hola Barcelona card.
• Pickpockets work metro platforms and gates at Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia and Liceu, and Sants station; keep phones out of back pockets.
• Keep your ticket until you exit: inspectors fine riders without a valid ticket.
• Metro runs all night on Saturdays, useful after concerts.
