A white suspension bridge opened in 1964, with a 290-metre span that was the longest in Hungary until the Megyeri Bridge. The old chain bridge here was blown up in 1945. Its design followed the Mülheim bridge in Cologne.

Good to know
- Until 1958 the plan was to rebuild the old chain bridge, which is why a pier of the old bridge was left standing on the Pest side.
- At night the white cables glow and it looks best from the Pest riverside.
