The 'Bottomless Lake' of Újbuda was born by accident in 1877, when brick-factory workers cut into an underground spring and the clay pit flooded; a park was laid out round it in 1958-60. Locals jog the path, sit by the water and, if they look closely, spot frogs and turtles.
