The 2nd-3rd-century house of a member of Aquincum's elite, kept under protective halls in a housing estate. Its floor mosaics are the best in Budapest: a drunken Hercules in a Dionysian wine procession, Amor offering grapes to a tigress, and Hercules fighting the centaur Nessus, thought to be an import from an Alexandrian workshop.

Good to know
- The neighbouring school was redesigned so the villa could stay; one apse room lies under the school building.
- In the bath building, look for the boxers: the winner stands flexing while his bleeding opponent lies on the floor.
- Check the date: it opens only from May to the end of October.
