A Bosphorus village between Ortaköy and Bebek whose waterfront is lined with some of the most picturesque late 19th and early 20th-century wooden houses on the strait, many in Art Nouveau style. At its end the Akıntıburnu cape once had currents so strong boats had to be towed round.
