Consecrated in 1855 for British soldiers of the Crimean War, most of whom died of cholera in Florence Nightingale's hospital at the Selimiye Barracks. It has Queen Victoria's 1857 obelisk, a plaque to Nightingale, over 400 WWI graves and the grave of Elizabeth I's ambassador Sir Edward Barton.
