Good to know
- Start at the Tünel end, linked to Karaköy by the Tünel, the world's second-oldest underground railway (GoTürkiye), and walk up towards Taksim.
- For food and drink, turn off into the side lanes: the avenue itself is lined with chain stores, while the alleys hold the cafés, bars and meyhanes.
- The Pera Museum and the Galata Tower are a few minutes' walk from the Tünel end.
