An 1892 Ottoman coal-gas works that lit the Asian side until 1993, reopened in July 2021 as a 30,000 m2 culture centre and science-and-technology museum with a cartoon exhibition section. It also has a 10,000-book library, two theatre halls, a cafeteria and a restaurant.
