The Goan room of São Bento, opened in 1986 by the late Sebastião Fernandes and now run by his daughter Ana: about twenty seats, one cook, and the coconut milk for the caril de gambas still squeezed by hand. Deputies and staff from the Assembleia da República across the street are regulars, and many families are on their second or third generation here.
