The triumphal arch completed in 1873 to mark Lisbon's rebuilding after the 1755 earthquake, crowned by Calmels' statues of Glory, Genius and Valour. Visitors climb past the Clock Room exhibition on the arch's history to a 360-degree terrace over Praça do Comércio, the Baixa grid and the Tagus.
