Built in 1694, it is recognized as the oldest house of worship in New York State, and Flushing Quakers still hold meeting for worship here every Sunday, more than three centuries on. It is the living end of the story that starts at Bowne House a few blocks away: the fight for freedom of conscience in colonial Flushing.
