Old Stone House of Brooklyn

MuseumLocals' pick

A reconstruction, from original stones, of the 1699 Vechte farmhouse where the First Maryland Regiment made its desperate stand in the Battle of Brooklyn in August 1776, letting Washington's army escape. Later the field around it was home to the club that became the Brooklyn Dodgers, who used the house as their first headquarters.
