Henry Ward Beecher's 1849-50 church, the 'Grand Central Depot' of the Underground Railroad, whose basement hid people escaping slavery; Beecher staged mock slave auctions here to buy real people's freedom, and a plaque marks the pew where Abraham Lincoln sat. One of the few Underground Railroad congregations in New York still worshipping in its original building.
