Two medieval buildings on Torcello's grassy piazza, the Gothic Palazzo del Consiglio and the 11th-12th-century Palazzo dell'Archivio, hold finds from the island and from Roman Altinum. Look for the gilded silver altar frontal, the ivory crozier head and the mosaic fragment of Christ with angels saved from Torcello's lost churches.
