Housed in the Fontego dei Turchi, the Grand Canal palace where Ottoman merchants traded, this civic museum shows the skeleton of the dinosaur Ouranosaurus nigeriensis found by Giancarlo Ligabue's 1972-73 expedition to Niger, and a new gallery of whale skeletons on the ground floor.
