On Monday mornings about 30 stalls of plants, herbs, bulbs and flowers fill the tree-lined Amstelveld square beside the wooden 17th-century Amstelkerk. Canal-belt residents buy balcony plants here; unlike the Bloemenmarkt it is not aimed at visitors.
