A widows' almshouse built in 1650 to a design by city architect Daniel Stalpaert on the grounds of the old Carthusian monastery, with two 17th-century pumps in the garden. It is still social housing, and the quiet courtyard behind the long facade is what most visitors walking the Westerstraat never see.
