For more than 50 years this open-air stage in the Vondelpark has put on free shows every summer weekend, about 100,000 visitors a year. Generations of Amsterdammers bring a blanket and a drink for Sunday-morning classical or Saturday comedy; visitors cycling through the park rarely stop to check the programme.
