A small square built over the old cathedral cemetery, with a Baroque church whose façade still carries the shrapnel scars of an Italian air raid during the Civil War that killed more than 200 people, about 30 of them refugee children sheltering there. Barcelonans treat it as a place of memory; it is tucked behind the cathedral where crowds rarely linger.
