Three lakes ringed by tens of thousands of bamboo plants, crossed by the Changhe river next to the National Library. Since 2004 parents have met in Zizhuyuan, Longtan and Zhongshan parks to trade details and find partners for their grown children. Visitors bound for the Summer Palace pass it without stopping.
