The main Lechner building of the Museum of Applied Arts on Üllői út is closed for reconstruction, so this villa of the museum's first director, György Ráth (1828-1905), is where you see its Art Nouveau treasures. The permanent show "A mi szecessziónk" (Our Art Nouveau) sets British, Austrian, French and Hungarian Secession pieces in furnished period rooms.

Good to know
- The corridors are narrow, so the villa admits at most 30 people at once; weekday mornings are calmer.
- Photography without flash is free; a video ticket costs HUF 1,000.
- The building is a listed monument in itself: look at the dining room and the staircase as much as at the showcases.
