Ireland's first purpose-built shopping centre, opened in 1881 as the South City Markets: a red-brick Victorian hall of small stalls where you can get a fortune told, a vintage bag, second-hand books and a batter burger under one roof. Dubliners also use it as a dry shortcut from George's Street to Drury Street.
