The world's oldest public gallery of modern art, opened in 1908 by Hugh Lane in Charlemont House, a Georgian mansion on Parnell Square. Its highlight is Francis Bacon's London studio, moved piece by piece with over 7,000 objects; it also has Sean Scully abstracts and Harry Clarke's 'Eve of St Agnes' stained glass.
