Built 1463-1470 by Mehmed the Conqueror on the site of the Church of the Holy Apostles and rebuilt in 1771 after the 1766 earthquake; only the courtyard, main portal and lower minarets survive from the original. The Conqueror's tomb is here, and the complex once held eight medreses, a hospital and 280 shops.

- It is off Fevzi Paşa Caddesi; the complex reopened to worshippers in 2021 after restoration.
- The domed Carullah Efendi Library (1724) is attached to the mosque but has been under repair.
