Two joined Byzantine churches of the Lips Monastery: the north church inaugurated in 908 and the south church built by Empress Theodora around 1286-1304, where several Palaiologan emperors and empresses were buried. Restored by the Byzantine Institute of America in the 1950s-60s, it serves as a mosque again.
