An Armenian church (1866-1887) standing on the foundations of the 11th-century Byzantine monastery of the Theotokos Peribleptos, burial place of emperors Romanos III and Nikephoros III. After 1453 it went to the Armenians and was for a time the seat of the Armenian Patriarchate.
