A small Palaiologan cross-shaped building generally believed to be part of the Byzantine Monastery of Gastria, a nunnery founded by Theoktiste, mother of Empress Theodora, that served as her family mausoleum. Partly destroyed in 1894, it was restored in 1973-1976 with a minaret added.
