Founded in 1937 by the guitarist Armando Machado and the singer Maria de Lourdes; Visit Lisboa calls it one of the great bastions of fado in Bairro Alto, where Amália, Maria da Fé and Mariza sang.

- Since a 2012 renovation there is a wine cellar for tapas and wine by the glass beside the main dining room (Lisbon Lux).
