Raul Lino's neoclassical cine-theatre opened on the Avenida da Liberdade in 1924, after four years of works, as the best cinema in the country of its day; Doctor Zhivago premiered here and Igor Stravinsky performed on its stage. The 1,149-seat hall now hosts concerts, dance, musicals and comedy and has been a Monument of Public Interest since 2015.
