Built by Inigo Jones in 1620-1623 above an open, vaulted undercroft that has served as crypt, meeting place and place of recreation. John Donne was Preacher of Lincoln's Inn. Traditionally the bell tolled a 21:00 curfew, one stroke per year of the Treasurer's age.
