Here in 1847 John C. Fremont and Andres Pico signed the Capitulation of Cahuenga, the ceasefire that ended the fighting for California between US forces and the Californios. The replica adobe built by the city in 1950 at the north end of Cahuenga Pass is now a small interpretive centre.
