Judy Baca and SPARC's 2,754-foot mural on the concrete banks of the Tujunga Wash, begun in 1978 with more than 400 young people working alongside historians. It runs roughly in chronological order through California's history, from Indigenous life and Chinese railroad builders to the Zoot Suit Riots and Biddy Mason, so you walk it like a timeline.
