Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral

Place of worship

Built in 1952 by Charles Skouras, who had vowed to build 'the most majestic cathedral' if he made it in show business, and did, as head of Fox West Coast Theatres. The result is a gilded, Hollywood-scaled Greek Orthodox interior in the heart of the Byzantine-Latino Quarter.
