Madrid's oldest bombonería, founded in 1852 and still run by the founding family; Unamuno suggested the name, and it created the chocolate pajaritas and the violet and rose sweets. Prime minister Canalejas had just bought violets here when he was shot in 1912; the Sol shop closed in 1991 and this 1969 shop carries on.
