The violet-sweet shop opened in 1915 by Mariano Gil and Pilar Temiño, still on the same corner with its wooden front and the original recipe; Alfonso XIII bought violetas here for the queen and it never closed, not even in the Civil War. The sweets come in cardboard boxes with a violet ribbon.
