A second-hand bookshop opened in 1942 by a grandson of Benito Pérez Galdós, on Calle Hortaleza just off Gran Vía: old wooden shelves packed to the ceiling with rare and out-of-print books (esmadrid counts more than 20,000 out-of-print titles) and a corner for Galdós himself. Madrid Secreto calls it the sanctuary of lost books.
