Behind a plain brick front off Gran Vía, Madrid's only oval church (1624-1633) is painted floor to dome with frescoes by Francisco Ricci, Carreño de Miranda and Luca Giordano. Madrileños call it the city's 'Sistine Chapel'. The Real Hermandad del Refugio, which runs it, also organises classical concerts here.
