A station dug almost entirely into the rock above the Sainte-Dévote ravine, opened in 1999 after six years of tunnelling. Moving the railway underground freed tens of thousands of square metres: Larvotto exists because of it, and the old Monte-Carlo station (1869-1965) stood where the Fairmont is now.
