A small IPHAN-listed island off Niterói, joined by a footbridge, with a chapel first built in 1650 and rebuilt in 1780, a small fort and a castle building, restored by the city with UNESCO for Brazil's first 'Ilha Museu' open-air museum project (Veja Rio, 2023). Sailors once knelt on deck here to give thanks for a safe voyage, hence the name.
