- At the end of the afternoon locals sit on the sand and applaud the sunset behind Morro Dois Irmãos.
- On Sundays the seafront road closes to cars until 18:00.
- Beach sections are named by the lifeguard posts (postos); Posto 9 is the classic meeting point (Riotur).
