Completed in 13 BC and inaugurated by Augustus in honour of his nephew Marcellus; its arches later became the base of the Savelli and then the Orsini palace, designed by Baldassare Peruzzi in the 16th century, so you see an ancient theatre with a Renaissance palace on top.
