The new Pudong branch, fully open since December 2024, now holds the museum's permanent galleries: 3,600 years of Chinese bronzes, ceramics, and a coin gallery with more than 6,000 pieces.

Good to know
- Bring your passport: entry is by scanning your ID at the B1 east gate after a security check.
- The Digital Hall and the Ancient Civilizations Discovery Palace need a separate booking ("专项预约") in the museum mini program.
- Closed on Tuesday, not Monday like most Shanghai museums.
