The abbey church at the Lido port mouth, holding part of the relics of St Nicholas. Under the Republic the solemn mass after the Marriage of the Sea at the Festa della Sensa was said here, and fleets sailed from here, including the Fourth Crusade in 1202. Andrea Vicentino painted Henry III of France arriving here in 1574 for the Doge's Palace.

Good to know
- A small part of the earlier Byzantine church, now partly buried, is visible from the cloister.
- The baroque bell tower dates from 1626-29; the convent and cloister are 16th century.
- It sits at the quiet northern end of the Lido near the port mouth, far from the beach crowds; it is a working parish church, so visit outside mass times. The relics of St Nicholas lie beneath the high altar.
