The busiest of the surviving 'gondole da parada': two oarsmen row a stripped-down gondola straight across the Grand Canal from Campo Santa Sofia to the Pescaria. Locals use it to reach the Rialto fish market without the bridge, and for a visitor it is the cheapest gondola ride in Venice: two minutes at water level in the middle of the canal. Many visitors walk past it on the Strada Nova without noticing the small pier.
