Guido Vergombello opened this goldsmith's workshop in 1932, the year of the first Venice Film Festival; his son Roberto and granddaughter Marta still make jewels by hand, above all the 'moretti', the Venetian Moor's-head brooches and earrings. They call it 'a small workshop, not easy to find but hard to forget', hidden in a courtyard two minutes from St Mark's.
