Founded as a tent cinema in 1905 and in this Jugendstil corner shop since 1909, it is the oldest continuously operating cinema in Vienna and one of the oldest in the world, with original wooden seats. Anna Nitsch-Fitz ran it for 53 years; her niece refurbished it and still programmes silent films with live piano.
