Amsterdam's oldest theatre, opened in 1786 on the Amstel and a national monument, known as the cabaret temple of the Netherlands: Wim Kan, Toon Hermans, Youp van 't Hek, Brigitte Kaandorp and Hans Teeuwen all played here. It seats 503 and still programmes both big names and debutants.
