Of the walls that once carried more than sixty towers, only stretches survive, most were pulled down by the mid-1930s. Along the inner wall on Uzun Çarşı Sokak sit the column drums carved with the Arabic fetihname of Sultan İzzeddin Keykavus, who retook Antalya in January 1216: the largest known Anatolian Seljuk inscription.

Good to know
- The fetihname has 43 pieces plus two supporting ones; 29 are still on the walls, 9 are in the Ethnography Museum and 7 are lost (DHA, March 2026).
- Many pieces hide behind shrubs or on private walls, so look closely along Uzun Çarşı Sokak between the Merdivenli Kapı and the Clock Tower.
