A semicircular natural harbour used since the Hellenistic period, with a 110 m mouth; the breakwaters probably stand on ancient wall remains. Fishing boats and day-trip boats moor under the walls, and the cafés around it are the classic sea-view stop of Kaleiçi.

Good to know
- Come down by the Kırk Merdiven (Forty Steps), the stair through the walls on the east side, probably Venetian-built (antalya.bel.tr).
- In 1472 the papal fleet carried the harbour chain off to Rome as a trophy (antalya.bel.tr).
- Boats from here run to the cliffs and the Lower Düden Falls (GoTürkiye); choose a plain sightseeing trip, not a party boat.
