A private library opened in 1895 in the flat of philanthropist Rossend Arús, specialising in the labour movement, anarchism and freemasonry, and holding the country's largest Sherlock Holmes collection. A marble staircase with Ionic columns leads to a small bronze Statue of Liberty; it hides behind a plain residential façade.
